Howdy! My name is KA and I’ve lived in Houston since 2014. Aside from a few posts years ago, I’m completely new to blogging. I never thought too much about starting a blog until recently when I started thinking about all the times people have asked about what we’ve made, or when I’ve been able to share a new Houston find! I am by no means an expert in DIY anything — aside from maybe Cajun food — but I, like many others, have grown increasingly creative when trying to decorate or furnish my apartment on a budget. The idea behind this blog is to share DIY projects we are working on, the research behind them, perhaps some of our friends’ creations, and of course any unique Houston finds! I hope you see something that inspires you!

Since unexpectedly moving here after grad school, I’ve completely fallen in love with so much that Houston has to offer. What was once a really, really  long stretch of road when driving to San Antonio turned out to be where I’d find inspiration and a home. My boyfriend Iain, our two Aussie Shepherds — Millie and Mckenzie — and I are working toward building a house in Houston’s historic Second Ward and will be working on lots of fun things in between.
